EtherLogic Advanta™
Intelligent RTU/Controller
A unique "open architecture" 32-bit controller that combines IEC
61131-3 programmable control, data logging, voice, pager and e-mail alarming,
built-in Ethernet, Internet, and high-speed serial, wireless and cellular communications.
Accepts thermocouple, thermistor, RTD, 5V, mV and 20mA signals without external
conditioners. High-speed pulse inputs accept conditioned and "raw"
signals from magnetic pickups, flow meters and encoders. Includes a built-in
"smart" uninterruptible power supply.
The EtherLogic Advanta offers a new line of UPS (Uninteruptable Power Supply)
capabilities for ICL controllers. The battery backup feature offers a new facet
in control applications where power monitoring, battery health and maintenance
are required. The Etherlogic Advanta also offers low power modes to shut down
non-essential functions such as on-board LED's, sensor power, Ethernet power
and radio power to increase battery backup time when power has failed. Battery
backup can also continue to supply power from the battery to the sensor power
output to keep instruments up and running when utility power is not available.

The EtherLogic Advanta RTU/Controller
is an "open architecture" programmable controller with built-in Ethernet and
serial communications. It offers 32-bit processing power, network communications
and high level software tools that minimize programming time. EtherLogic Advanta
has "large controller" hardware features and software tools at a cost competitive
with ordinary relay replacement "shoebox" controllers.
With 32-bit processing power and high level software tools that minimize
programming time, EtherLogic Advanta™ bridges the gap between traditional PLCs,
RTUs and the new generation of Ethernet and Web connected instruments.
The open architecture design of EtherLogic Advanta extends to its communications
capabilities as well. EtherLogic Advanta supports industry standard serial communications
protocols like Modbus as well as the standard Ethernet and Internet protocols,
allowing it to be easily Advantated into existing factory Local Area Networks.
By not relying on proprietary protocols, EtherLogic Advanta is supported by the top
HMI software packages like InTouch (Wonderware), FIX (Intellution) and Lookout
(National Instruments) with "off-the-shelf" drivers.
The EtherLogic Advanta is part of a family of Intelligent RTU's and Controllers
which includes the ScadaFlex Plus and ICL-4300. To find out more about features
