The ICL-4300 is designed for service in tough industrial environments. All the components we use are fully qualified to operate at the extended industrial temperature range. The designed minimum operating range is -40°C to 80°C (-40°F to 176°F). This makes the ICL-4300 suitable for applications where a standard PC just wouldn't survive. Put it in a metal box out in the middle of a field, with no special heating or cooling, and it will keep going all blazing summer and freezing winter without a complaint. To insure that each unit we produce will give you years of trouble-free operation, we use a prolonged high-temperature burn-in production test. Each ICL-4300 in its final configuration undergoes rigorous performance testing to make sure it is operating within normal tolerances. Unlike a desktop PC, you won't find any fragile hard disk drives or other moving parts inside a ICL-4300. Instead, we use flash memory technology to provide a file storage system that is virtually immune to shock, vibration and magnetic fields. The flash file system drivers are also specially designed to allow power to be removed at any time with no ill effects. |
