ICL-4300

Communications

The ICL-4300 excels in data communications. Our application development tools make it easy to set up systems using standard communication protocols. Low-level capabilities are also available for you to implement your own protocols.

The ICL-4300 supports the following communications protocols:
  • Modbus RTU slave
  • Modbus RTU master
  • Modbus ASCII slave
  • Modbus ASCII master
  • Modbus/TCP slave
  • Modbus/TCP master
  • BrickNet (peer-to-peer)
  • TAP (alphanumeric pager)

The following communications media are supported:
  • RS-232
  • RS-485
  • Ethernet
  • Radio
  • Dialup Modem
  • Arcnet

Standard communication protocols are easy to set up on the ICL-4300. For slave protocols simply define the port you want to use and select the protocol you would like.

For master or peer-to-peer protocols, you also specify the information you want to transfer, and the conditions which trigger the transfer. Trigger conditions include register value changes and elapsed time.
