PicoBricks provide economical blocks of analog and discrete I/O points, distributed up to 5,000 ft. They are supported by all popular SCADA/DCS software and many PLCs using industry standard Modbus RTU communications.

PicoBrick distributed I/O modules can significantly reduce system costs by eliminating long runs of field wiring, reducing the size of electrical panels, reducing startup and maintenance time, and eliminating special test hardware and portable computers in the field.

PicoBricks are networks addressable, enabling up to 255 of them to be connected together in a simple network using low-cost twisted pai wiring, or via radios, leased line or fiber optic modems. Their small I/O count and physical size provide for economical I/O expansion or well and tank site RTUs.

For long time reliability, PicoBricks have a wide operating temperature range, rugged transient and overload protection, and isolated field I/O. A unique dual watchdog system further protects systems in the event of a field fault condition, host shutdown or network communications failure. All PicoBricks carry a full 3-year factory warranty, one of the longest in the industry.

As open architecture devices, PicoBricks support the industry standard Modbus RTU communications protocol as well as supporting DF1 slave protocol. This not only ensures inter-operability with other instrumentation, it also provides compatibility with hundreds of popular SCADA/DCS software packages, PLCs and Process Controllers including ICL's ScadaFlex, EtherLogic and PC-in-a-Brick Controllers.

PicoBricks may also be utilized as I/O bridge equipment--a functionality similar to that of ICL's ScadaBridge product line. For example, A DI Picobrick may transmit all of it's I/O states to a DO Picobrick over a RS-232, RS-485 or radio link of any type that supports serial data. This can save a large amount of money for long wiring runs and improve reliability.
