Typical applications:
The RTU in a Brick is perfect for applications requiring remote monitoring and control with smaller I/O counts and no local logic capability. These RTUs require no programming and are configured with our popular Toolbox -- a simple "point-and-click" Windows program.
If your application requires more capability, I/O or local control logic, select one of the ICL-4300 "PC-in-a-Brick" Controllers. You can literally expand systems based on these Controllers to thousands of I/O points and hundreds of control loops. With this series, you also have the choice of using C, C++, Ladder Logic, Flow Diagram, Function Block, and Structured Text programming languages, or ESP (which requires no programming) to implement a large variety of built-in functions.
RTU or Controller, both product series have powerful easy-to-use software and hardware support for data logging, alarm dialing, voice or pager alarm annunciation, and communications over a wide variety of media including twisted pair wires, land and cellular telephone, and licensed or spread-spectrum radio. In addition, the ICL-4300 Series supports the newest and latest industrial communications media (including Ethernet and the Internet) and the widest choice of PC-based languages, libraries and tools for rapid development of control logic.
